This study presents preliminary observations on sugar beet cultivation at Mumias, Kenya. Sugar beet, typically grown in temperate regions, is explored in a tropical context as a potential solution for issues faced by sugarcane farmers. The short maturity period of sugar beet compared to sugarcane is highlighted, showcasing its technical potential and quick income generation for farmers.
